Extreme Heat and Extreme Workouts don't mix

I will admit that I am addicted to working out, and I feel like I have missed out on something when I don't....This can be really frustrating when I can't or shouldn't workout....For the last couple of week the temperatures across this country have been setting records for extremely Hot and Humid temperatures. There have been warnings about these extreme and dangerous heat, and weather reports have declared that staying at home and drinking plenty of fluids was the best way to avoid this and dangerous heat.... If you didn't have to go outside, they suggested that you  find somewhere cool and lay low......Well what is a health nut to do????
Well what I had too do was be very smart about what was most important to me, my health or my fitness???.....
My health won out  so what I decided to do was just give my workout a break.....Please believe I felt like I was missing out on something....I quickly change my mind when new reports started rolling in about athletes that were dieing in this extreme heat from working out....I thought to myself....this is the reason that I work out so that I can withstand extreme conditions and that I can endure them because I have conditioned myself to deal with the stress of circumstance.....Well listen people we are only human....when you workout you heat the body up.....so adding extremely hot temperatures to the mix is indeed very dangerous....and quite frankly just plan retarded.......
I even tried to work out durning the evening, when the sun went down...but on some nights it was still 80 degrees outside...and besides that, the heat was so draining that I couldn't even muster up the energy to even lift my head off the pillow....I even lost my appetite on some day's and only drank water or ate a piece of fruit....so that was a no go.....I knew that these temperatures could not possible stay this high for very long...so I gave myself a break and just chilled.....best decision ever.....
Two week later the extreme heat wave broke and I am back on my routine like nothing every happened.....and I feel extra great....I got over my momentary insanity with working out and opted for common sense instead of obsession.....it works for me.....I know it will work for you.....so to all my fellow workout junkies....just be smart, listen to your body, and just take it easy in this extreme heat.....You will live to work out again....I promise.....
STAY HEALTHY, STAY SMART....LIVE A LONG TIME

Come on Sista's Let Work Out!!!!!!

It has come to my attention that African American Sista's do not workout!!!!!
Why has it come to my attention???? Because I see the sista'a not in the gym.....But their asses are gaining weight by the truck loads.....OK it is a fact that Americans as a whole are getting larger.....every ethnic group is gaining weight.....but the African American population rate of increase is 30% higher than the national average......In our community black men: 54% are overweight and 34% are obese.....
Black woman 56% are overweight and 46% are considered obese...... http://minorityhealth.hhs.gov/templates/content.aspx?ID=6456
I know if you don't what the implications of these numbers will mean as the black population get older......People that translate into a lot of negative factors that overall for our community is all bad......
We as women interact with the children more than our male counterparts, and we are setting some bad examples for them. When we do not promote physical fitness, better eating choices and better healthy goal for ourselves. Then we are setting our children up for failure.....  if we don't get hold of these alarming finding.....We will be responsible in part for the increase of juvenile diabetes, the increase of High blood pressure and Heart disease in our young people.....http://www.google.com/search?q=pic+of+African+american+children+playing&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLT_en
If we don't instill in them to put down the video game and get outside and move around and put away the fast food everyday, eat something that grow from the Earth or a tree......
what will we do when our young people can't get hired at a company because they can't pass the physical exam......(did you know that companies are implementing mandatory physical exam before they hire you. They are not just checking for drugs, they are checking to see if you are a candidate for long term health issues that could cut into the profits of the said company.......If you do present a risk ( you can see an over-weight person right off the bat) that mean that you decrease you chances of getting hired by that company or any other, with an obvious health issue.  If you get hired and you become a risk, that mean higher insurance premiums and that could translate into termination). As a community we have a lot of other problems that we must face.....Don't let poor health and increase risk to disease caused by a bad diet and lack of physical exercise add to an already daunting list of problems we face everyday......Take measures today to prevent health problem for yourself and your young people by just caring about you.....and how you are living......Talk to you Doctor, or someone to seek help with the issue of weight control a better meal planning, for a longer healthier lifestyle.......As President Barack would agree change is possible.

Food that can help control your appetite

This is something that is near and dear to me......I know that it is something near and dear to a lot of people.....That is my love for good food!!!!!!

Hey do I have your attention now??????I know that everyone is interested in good eating and good food...

Well If you are like me you know that eating good food  (that has a high salt and fat content) can also have it's consequences to your waste.....I have become very conscience about the food that I eat now days, because it seem to always lands on my waste or on my butt.....
Not only am I an advocate for exercise but I also eating good healthy foods....it is very rare that I will eat any processed foods with salt or sugar.....I have found that these additives add unnecessary fat to your body....and I don't need the extra fat any more.....I've carried extra weight for far too long.....and it's still a battle......but I will triumph in the end.......that's my goal.....but it starts with my food choices........

I don't diet anymore....dieting does not work for me....I would rather call it a lifestyle change for a more energized, healthy life.
That calls for a drastic change in what I eat and put in my body......The goal is to reduce my overall body fat.....especially around my waist

This is what belly fat looks like.......Nice uuhhh!!!!!!

I came across this article that I found very interesting: foods that reduce your appetite and help you lose weight http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/food/11-foods-for-faster-easier-weight-loss-2489734/#photoViewer=1
YogurtEggsPistachiosGrapefruitAvocadoMushroomsOlive OilWhole Grains

These are just a few examples of what kind of foods are in question.....I have tried some of these options but not all of them but I will.....
